Pimms-no-1blog

The Pimm’s No 1 is a British gin-based liquor made with fruit juices, spices, herbs, and quinine. This drink was created by James Pimm, a restaurateur in the city of London during the 1880s. Mr. Pimm devised a gin sling concoction which was so unique that he put it into commercial production. After WWII, Pimm’s extended their range using a number of other spirits as bases. There were six varieties introduced: No. 2 (Scotch), No.3 (brandy), No.4 (rum), No.5 (rye), No. 6 (vodka). Today, only the vodka and brandy, now called winter, are left in production, and the original No. 1 still reigns supreme in popularity in England.

There is nothing like an ice cold drink of Pimm’s No.1 in the summer. Try a traditional British cocktail, Pimm’s Cup.

Cheers!
