Afternoon Interlude is an original concoction perfectly suited for a relaxing time. In the middle ages, European monks tended gardens filled with herbs, and spices. In order to preserve these ingredients, they steeped them in alcohol to create an elixir, the very earliest forms of liqueurs. Crème de menthe is one of the oldest herbal liqueur, and even though the word ‘crème‘ is used, it is not a cream liqueur. The drink was popular in the 60’s, it is sweet with an overall strong minty flavour. A white crème de menthe is available.
