Charlie’s Angel – Refreshing & Effervescent

The Charlie’s Angel highball is a mixed drink that pairs the great flavour of the Mexican spirit, mezcal, and the French premium orange-brandy liqueur, Grand Marnier with orange juice and grapefruit juices, and a bit of soda water for fizz. On September 27th 1977, Cheryl Ladd replaced Farrah Fawcett on the popular Charlie’s Angel’s tv series. Mezcal is from the local wild agave plants known as maguey. Although similar in style to tequila, the difference is in the way the piñas is processed. In tequila production the piñas are steamed, and in mezcal production the piñas are baked or roasted over charcoal in special underground ovens for up to three days. Some bottles of mezcal are instantly recognizable, they contain the ‘worm’ that gets into the leaves of the agave plants.
