Sparkling cocktails are timeless and the Chicago is a wonderful example. It is named after the bootlegger’s city, Chicago. It has been mentioned in numerous cocktail books dating back to the 19th century, but its creator is unknown. This bubbly drink is similar to a ‘Champagne Cocktail‘ that substitute orange liqueur for the sugar cube. The Chicago combines the perfect match of brandy with the smooth orange liqueur, Cointreau, a dash of Angostura bitters, and top up with Lanson champagne.
