The Negroni is an aristocratic cocktail that was created by Count Negroni in the 1920s at Giacosa’s bar in Florence, Italy.  The drink is a classic aperitivo, and the big brother of the Americano. Traditionally, the recipe calls for equal amount of gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari, but the proportions have altered through the years. This is a fairly bitter drink, but the sweet vermouth nicely balances the harsher aspect of the unique Campari.
