Drink à la Française! Tomate cocktail was created in 1895 in a French Bistro. It is an awesome and refreshing highball featuring Pastis with grenadine and water. Pastis is a French anise-flavoured liqueur consumed throughout France, and it is generally associated with the Southern part of the country. The original Tomato cocktail recipe was made with Absinthe liqueur.
