Pink Gin – Classic Cocktail

pink gin cocktail

It is said that the Pink Gin originated in Plymouth England, and was first made with gin the Coates Plymouth Gin distillery. The story goes that bitters, often used as a cure for stomach ailments, was prescribed for sailors leaving Plymouth harbor, but since bitters is far too concentrated to drink on its own, the sailors simply added it to their favourite spirit – gin. In England, the Pink gin is served at room temperature. If you wish to sample it this way, first coat the glass with the bitters, then simply pour the gin into the glass. Most North-Americans prefer this drink well-chilled.
