Liqueurs: Guignolet

Guignolet French cherry liqueur

Guignolet is the most popular cherry-based liqueur in France.  It is named after guigne, one of the few species of cherry used in its production. The dark red liqueur is sweet and has a mild aroma similar to whiskey. This liqueur is best served on ice as an apéritif. The Gabriel Boudier brand is also well-known for its crème de cassis liqueur.
