The Forum Flip belongs to the Flip family, which is a category of mixed drinks. The term  dates back to the 1700s. The Flips were originally hot drinks made with egg, sugar, and a variety of liquors or wines. They were warmed up by means of a red-hot iron device.  Today however, Flips are served cold and often include cream. The Forum Flip recipe is from a 1980s advertising pamphlet featuring the Italian Patrician liqueur brand. This lovely little drink combines Sambuca, orange liqueur, coffee, a sweetener, and half egg. The Forum Flip is rich, strong, and the ultimate nightcap.
