Horse’s Neck – Effervescent & Refreshing

The Horse’s Neck is an American vintage cocktail. The original recipe was non-alcoholic, a combination of ginger ale and lemon juice served on ice. Adding spirits such as bourbon or brandy came in the 1920s. Some newer versions of this cocktail uses gin. Brandy and ginger ale was popular with the British Navy officers and the writer Ian Fleming. The Horse’s neck is simple, effervescent and tasty. Don’t forget to put a long citrus twist that should resemble (only with great imagination) the neck of a horse.
