Shanghai Manhattan – Strong & Smooth
Shanghai Manhattan is an Asian inspired cocktail. This libation brings Chinese drink culture to the West, and offers an exploration of flavour combos. Perhaps, Chu Yeh Ching Chiew is the best well-known Sorghum Whisky in China. It is a special, ancient drink made from over ten traditional Chinese herbs, and then stepped with bamboo leaves to give a unique taste. It has transparent light golden colour with a slight green hue, and it offers a pronounce floral, herbal aromas. It is off-dry with flavours of dried apricot, and a hint of anise with a lengthy mild finish (compare to rye Whisky). As Baijiu (liquor) become more accessible, many bartenders are now ready to make the next ‘it’ drink for their cocktail menu.
