The Bloomsbury distiller is the first licensed rectifier in Bloomsbury since Tanqueray & Co moved to Scotland after sustaining severe bomb damage during WWII. Bloomsbury lemon Gin is made from neutral base, the original Bloomsbury gin is used with traditional lemon botanical flavoring added.
Lemon Gin, once a staple of the cocktail cabinet, enjoyed great popularity between the 1930s and 1990s and can be found in recipes from cocktail books of the time. Bloomsbury has now resurrected the product with a flavour which is very comparable to the original varieties, but with a higher proof, making it more mixable. The popularity of gin spread far beyond Great Britain, and the spirit is experiencing a strong revival around the globe.
