Caesar – Highball

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Vodka
3 Drops Worcestershire sauce
3 Drops Tabasco hot sauce
Salt & Pepper
Clamato juice

Build

1. Rim a highball glass with celery salt.

2. Fill the glass with ice.

3. Pour the vodka.

4. Add Worcestershire, Tabasco, and salt & pepper.

5. Fill the glass with clamato juice.

6. Garnish with a celery stick and a lime wedge, or other vegetable you might have on hand.

Caesar – Savoury & Spicy

The Caesar is uniquely Canadian, and is undisputed the unofficial National drink of Canada. To commemorate the opening of a new restaurant, the Calgary Westin Hotel sponsored a contest to develop a new cocktail. Bartender Walter Chell spent months perfecting the combination of tomato juice, clam nectar, lime, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, and vodka to wine the contest. The Motts company worked with Chell to create what is now called clamato juice. Motts clamato is a drink made of reconstituted tomato juice, and flavoured with spices and clam broth. Throw the traditional recipe to the wind and try a Salsa Caesar.
